The other day I posted on twitter and Facebook a picture of my morning fruit smoothie I was having. A couple of my twitter friends responded not very favorably with their view of what it may taste like. One it reminded him of his disgust for avocados and the other hoped it tasted better than it looked.
I’ll have to admit it doesn’t have a very appealing color to it. But to my surprise it tasted really good and I will enjoy this fruit smoothie on a regular basis.
You might be thinking that I took on juicing but I haven’t got that ambitious just yet. That’s still to come. This smoothie came from a bottle. It’s from Bolthouse Farms and is their Green Goodness blend. The flavor is a starburst of fruit flavors and it’s pretty good for you too. I first thought it may have a little gritty, grass flavor to it because of the green color. But the color comes from mostly kiwi and it does have spinach and green tea in it. The flavor is sweet with a tart finish. I can definitely taste the kiwi, apple and the pineapple. There was no grass or earthy flavors or texture. The texture was very smooth similar to OJ. It wasn’t gritty or chalky like some of the smoothing drinks I have tried. It’s a very enjoyable fruit
smoothie and something I could have every day.
It has a blend of 20 ingredients. Mostly being apples, pineapples, mango, banana and kiwi. But also includes spirulina, broccoli, barley grass, blue green algae to name a few. Here’s a quick bullet list from their web site.
- Blend
of 8 delicious juices/purees. - Packed
with 14 powerful nutrients delivering unmatched healthy green
phytonutrients. - No
preservatives and nothing artificial. - Flash
pasteurized and cold-filled for longer shelf life and superior nutrition. - 100%
Juice, 100% Natural and no sugar added.
You can get all the ingredients from Bolthouse
Farms website here.
The nutritional facts lists only 25 mg of sodium but it is a
little high in Carbs (33 g) but I think they are the good kind. As long as you
have an active day it will all get burned off. But the thing is packed with
vitamins and minerals.
I hope you have a chance to try it soon.
